Definitions matter. And church planting lingo is rarely defined consistently. You will find a different definition of a “core team” with each planter and his adopted methodology for establishing a new church. I think it will be helpful for Redeeming Grace Baptist Church to be upfront and clear on what we mean when we reference a Core Team: who makes up the Core Team? What are the requirements for joining the Core Team?

The question, “Why church plant?” is valid. But perhaps even more pressing for local planting in the United States is, “Why church plant where churches exist already?”

Definitions matter. And in the world of church planting, “planting” itself can seem like a chameleon, changing colors to fit the context and circumstances. So, let us define church planting narrowly in order to better define how Redeeming Grace Baptist Church fits into the world of church planting.
